Deep Dive for the Technically Interested – Product & Technology Briefing

This one-hour technical briefing explores beamforming from the fundamentals to BeammWave’s distributed digital architecture and products. We explain what beamforming is, how analog and digital approaches differ, and the challenges digital beamforming addresses in high-frequency wireless communication.

The presentation examines how digital beamforming can improve connectivity as devices move and change orientation, handle signals arriving from different directions, and support multiple beams. We also discuss the power consumption and processing complexity that have traditionally limited its use in mobile devices.

We then explain what enables BeammWave to address these challenges: our system architecture, chip design and signal processing. Small RF transceiver chips are placed close to their antennas and connected through analog zero-IF interfaces to a central Digital BeamForming Accelerator (DBFA). This architecture combines digital beamforming with flexible antenna placement while reducing processing demands and data rates at the baseband interface.

The briefing connects these principles to our products and development platform, showing how customers can evaluate the technology for their own applications.
